How do I quit obsessing about eating?

I know that of which I write, and one thing I guarantee, you cannot will it; an actual internal shift must occur. The shift will give you new thoughts and there won't be room for the old ones. It takes time. I was food-thought obsessed until I was in my mid to late twenties; it peaked at about age 22. In hindsight, staying away from the deafening media around bodies would have helped. It is all about being healthy and feeling good, looking great just happens as a result of those two. 1. Find something to give you self-esteem besides your body. My food issues dropped away when I became recognized for my work instead of my looks. (Good grades were not an option as I have ADD and didn't know it at the time; work was a snap.) 2. Eat well to keep any physically-driven food cravings at bay. I once sat through an entire ballet obsessing about steak because I was so protein deprived. I had steak the next morning for breakfast. I would have eaten it when I got home at midnight, but I didn't have one and the stores weren't open. 3. Recognize that there may always be something residual. I loathe feeling full. I also don't usually feel hungry, but when I do, I don't overeat, but I know my body would have preferred I got it food earlier! So, I eat at about 11am, 4-5pm and snack at 7pm. Eating 'breakfast' (I usually eat eggs for lunch), just makes me feel sluggish and want to keep eating. 4. Keep exercising. I was a regular but not obsessive exerciser and this helped a lot. Hiking is a double healer as it combines exercise with being in nature. 5. Find the food that makes you feel best; ignore all diet fads until you find what makes you feel 'right' (hint. it will not involve processed foods). If you can't 'feel' your body, meditate. Your goal is even blood sugar and sustained energy.

Erase PDF: All You Need to Know

You must eat what makes you feel good, or it will stop making you happy. Don't get me wrong, food is great but when it 'feels' bad then there is no more food for you. Just because your body is healthy does not mean it is comfortable or wants you to act 'normal'. Do it now and then make changes on your own when you finally can. A little exercise, a good lunch or breakfast at the office or while relaxing, all can help to take your energy levels back. When you make your own food choices and enjoy them, the food cravings just go away. Remember — If you want to stop your cravings, you have to make this one change — your self-esteem goes up! (By the way, I had to fight my body for several months just to find the 'right stuff' and then.
